Swing for the Stars will bill your insurance company for services rendered. If your insurance plan requires a co-pay, you will be responsible for that co-pay at the time of service. It is important to understand that submission of claims to your insurance company does not guarantee payment for therapy services. Our experienced billing specialists will work with you and your insurance company to the best of our abilities for coverage of therapy services. In instances where claims are denied by your insurance carrier, you will be financially responsible for balances incurred.

If your insurance plan is not listed below, please contact our office for additional information. If you do not have insurance, we do offer treatment at a private pay rate. Call our office for more details.

The first step to starting therapy services at Swing for the Stars is initiating an intake by calling our office or submitting information through our website.

Once you contact our office, one of our intake coordinators will reach out to you by phone to complete the intake. During the intake you will be able to share your concerns as well as what information you are hoping to gain from the evaluation process. The intake coordinator will help to identify if an evaluation is necessary and if the therapy services and programs offered at Swing for the Stars are a good match for you and your child.

If an evaluation is recommended, you will be asked to fill out new patient paperwork, which needs to be completed and returned to our office prior to your scheduled evaluation appointment.

At the time of intake, you will also be asked what your availability for a weekly therapy service appointment time is. This information will be shared with the scheduling department, who will contact you as soon as an appointment that meets your scheduling needs becomes available.

EVALUATION

At your first scheduled appointment, your child will participate in an evaluation. You will be given a tour of the facility by the evaluating therapist, and will participate in a brief parent interview. During this interview you will be given the opportunity to share your concerns as well as what information you are hoping to gain from the evaluation. After the parent interview, parents will typically return to the waiting room while the therapist works with your child to complete the evaluation. We have found that in most circumstances, children participate at a higher level without their parents present. Individual family needs and circumstances are always taken into consideration. After the evaluation is completed, the therapist will provide you with a brief overview of the findings, and general recommendations for treatment. We understand that coming to a new place for the very first time can be scary for your child. For this reason we have created a “My First Visit at Swing for the Stars” story. We encourage parents to print out the story and read it to or with your child before his/her first visit so they know what to expect

TREATMENT

During the treatment process your child’s therapist will develop a treatment plan individualized to your child’s specific strengths and areas of need. You will be given home programs to work on throughout your time in-between therapy sessions. These home programs play an important part of ensuring carryover of skills from the clinic to your child’s natural environments. They will help to maximize treatment results through improved generalization and overall progress.
